The foundation installation for the Windanker offshore wind farm in the German waters of the Baltic Sea has been successfully completed. 21 monopiles, each up to 87 meters long and weighing 2,100 tons, were installed using IQIP’s powerful hammer spread.
The spread featured the Hydrohammer® IQ6, from IQIP’s IQ-series—the world’s most powerful hammer range, and an 8-meter sleeve equipped with PULSE®. PULSE, our advanced hammer add-on, significantly reduces underwater noise during installation, supporting more sustainable offshore construction. The installation was carried out in approximately 65 days with Van Oord’s heavy-lift installation vessel Svanen.
Once commissioned by the end of 2026, Windanker will deliver an installed capacity of 315 MW, strengthening the renewable energy footprint in the region. Windanker is the third major project in Iberdrola’s “Baltic Hub” cluster, alongside Wikinger (350 MW, operational since 2017) and Baltic Eagle (476 MW, operational since 2025). Together, these projects will provide more than 1.1 GW of clean energy. IQIP is proud to have supported monopile installation across all three offshore wind farms in this cluster.
