The External Lifting Tool (ELT) can be used for pile upending in a dual crane operation, as a hang-off clamp and as a temporary clamping device during welding or leg piles.
Additionally, the ELT has some specific innovative features. It can be used in subsea operations via ROV or umbilical and give an optimal result by its side opening. It’s centralised system improves the position prior to clamping.
The External Lifting Tool is equipped with innovative fail safe principle. Mechanical load applied on the tool in longitudinal direction results in a transversal force on the pile which creates the ‘locking / fail safe’ connection.
