IQIP was subcontracted by Micoperi to support ENI’s Congo LNG project with the pre-installation of a sacrificial casing. This was executed using our Hydrohammer® S-350 in the Nene Marine field, part of the Marine XII permit offshore Congo.
The casing was lifted with a 60-96″ Internal Lifting Tool, combined with Maxine, IQIP’s passive heave compensator. This setup ensured safe and controlled lifting, protecting both cranes and structures throughout all phases of the operation.
This pre-installation is a key step in the mooring system setup for the Scarabeo 5 Floating Production Unit (FPU). This vessel was recently converted from a semi-submersible drilling rig into an FPU. Once installed, the FPU will act as the control hub for the entire offshore development of ENI’s Congo LNG project.
We sincerely thank Micoperi for their trust in our team and equipment.
About Congo LNG
Led by Italian energy company ENI, the Congo LNG project is the Republic of the Congo’s first natural gas liquefaction and export initiative. It taps into offshore gas reserves in the Marine XII permit, including the Nene Marine field. The project uses floating LNG vessels to process and export gas, aiming to boost domestic power generation and supply liquefied natural gas to international markets, primarily in Europe.
