Dynamics and Simulation Engineer

At IQIP, the global market leader in foundation equipment and solutions, we are looking for a junior Dynamics and Simulation Engineer to join our team based in Eindhoven. We help our internal and external customers in their quest to develop new and innovative solutions within complex dynamical systems.

As a Dynamics and Simulation Engineer you work on a wide variety of projects and tasks which all have in common that they relate to the Dynamics branch of Mechanical Engineering. We perform our work in the offshore and infrastructure sectors. Most of our projects consider the installation of offshore foundation, mainly for wind turbines – this is how we make a significant contribution to the energy transition.

In general, your work is to study the dynamics of systems and machines. To do this you build Matlab/Simulink simulation models and analyze measurement data. This measurement data you gather yourself by proposing as well as executing measurement campaigns (note that your working boots might become greasy!).

For existing systems the goal of your dynamic analyses is typically problem solving, behavior optimization, or condition monitoring. When you perform dynamic analyses for systems that are under development, the goal is to support concept design decision making or to speed up concept development by applying a Model Based Design approach.

As a person, technology makes you enthusiastic, especially “big things that move”. You are eager to start your career in a technical-driven role to put the theory from your studies into practice. It motivates you to be challenged day in day out with new technical questions. Over time you become an Engineering Specialist in the field of Dynamics.

Your responsibilities:

  • Perform dynamic simulation studies on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical drive systems within the offshore and infrastructure, using Matlab/Simulink.
  • Propose and execute measurement campaigns.
  • Analyze and report simulation and measurement results and advise project teams based on the outcome.
  • Execute your own projects from start to finish with support from your colleagues.
  • Work on projects with a large variety, projects ranging from a few weeks up to multiple months.

What we are looking for:

  • A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A keen interest in “big things that move”.
  • A motivation for working in technology, with a (potential) desire to become a Dynamic Specialist.
  • An interest in project-based work that comes with high variety and requires flexibility.
  • An approach that combines comprehensive theoretical- and practical knowledge.
  • A strive to offer pragmatic solutions, and to put these solution into practice yourself.
  • Some experience with Matlab/Simulink.
  • Location: Eindhoven (NLD) (working at the office)
