84 wind turbines for Beatrice project

Seaway 7 (previously Seaway Heavy Lifting) and IQIP cooperated on the Beatrice offshore wind farm, thus extending the existing relationship between the two organisations in several installation and decommissioning projects in Oil & Gas, and Offshore Wind markets.

The Beatrice offshore wind farm comprises 84 wind turbines, each with a 154m diameter rotor capable of generating 7MW of power. All turbines were founded on pre-piled jacket substructures, installed at a water depth up to 55m. Design, engineering, fabrication and installation of the substructures were managed by Seaway 7.

The two companies have cooperations in engineering, equipment selection and installation methodology. The cooperation on this project has resulted in improving existing equipment concepts and having a positive impact on the installation methodology for both foundation piles and jackets.
