Installing monopiles at Akita-Noshiro project

IQIP is proud to support the Akita-Noshiro offshore windfarm project. This first Japanese large-scale offshore windfarm project is being developed near the Akita and Noshiro port.

For this project, IQIP will deliver installation equipment for the foundations of the wind turbines. In total 33 monopiles will be installed, of which 13 will be installed near the Akita port, and 20 near the Noshiro port.

The construction started this year, and the project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2022, supplying wind power to approximately 130,000 homes.

The Japanese offshore wind has a lot of potential, and we are devoted to the successful development of this emerging market. With our Japanese office and service engineers we provide advisory services, quality equipment, and skilled local based personnel using our extensive experience in OWF foundation installation.

For this project, IQIP delivered installation equipment for the foundations of 33 monopiles.

  • UET-700 Upending Tool
  • UET-1000 Upending Tool
  • Transition Piece Lifting Tools for covered TP’s.
