We are very proud of the noise reduction results achieved at the He Dreiht offshore wind project, using proven technology: the IQIP Noise Mitigation System (NMS) combined with PULSE®. Noise reduction levels exceed industry standards and contribute to sustainable installation practices and environmental care.
Reliable Mitigation Solution
The IQIP NMS is a specialized technology designed to reduce the impact of noise generated during offshore pile driving operations. Since 2012, NMS has been successfully applied in several projects. It has become renowned for its unique noise reduction capacity and ability to extend the weather window. The 15 dB reduction at the He Dreiht project is perfectly in line with the 2020 ITAP report regarding noise reduction achieved in several projects using IQIP NMS. This confirms the NMS template’s reliability and functionality, providing comprehensive 360-degree coverage to mitigate noise at the source.
Significant Noise Reduction
At He Dreiht, the combination of NMS and PULSE, a solution for noise reduction at the source, proved highly effective. The PULSE damping system is essentially a hammer add-on, positioned between the hammer and the sleeve. The solution was introduced in 2020. To date, it has been successfully installed on some 150 monopiles, with more to follow. By offering these advanced solutions, we’re pushing the boundaries of technology and laying the foundations for successful projects and a sustainable future.
