IQIP, a global leader in pile drivers and installation equipment, is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our dedicated team. With our broad involvement in offshore wind, oil and gas, coastal, and civil engineering markets, this role offers a unique blend of technical expertise and client consultancy.
Your work
In this role, you will focus on applied earth sciences and geotechnical engineering, encompassing pile handling and the interaction between equipment, foundation, and soil. Your responsibilities extend beyond engineering, involving client consultancy assignments and occasional travel to meet diverse client needs in our offshore wind, oil and gas, and civil markets.
About the department
You will be working in the Geotechnical Advisory Services team based in Sliedrecht. We are a young and enthusiastic team of six people and like to organise social activities on a regular base. We are working on diverse geotechnical requests from clients in all markets worldwide. Our involvement starts early, and we continue to support with specialist knowledge during the project’s lifecycle. We need you to bring your geotechnical knowledge to the next level by working on challenges of our clients, like: what type of hammer do we need? Are we able to drive through rock? How much noise emission can we expect?
Your Responsibilities:

Providing expert advice on geotechnical engineering aspects of foundation installation across various markets.

Performing driveability analyses, including analyzing geotechnical data (factual reports, CPT data, borehole loggings), modeling local soil conditions, selecting appropriate hammers, and performing driveability calculations.

Advising on noise mitigation strategies in projects, considering both airborne and underwater noise.

Advising on underwater soil stability and vibration propagation in the soil, due to the impact of equipment.

Reporting and presenting results to clients and engaging in technical discussions.

Participating in R&D activities, contributing specialist geotechnical knowledge to support IQIP’s technology and knowledge development roadmap.

Collaborating closely with the sales team, R&D team, and clients’ geotechnical experts, balancing technical and commercial skills.
Your profile

A finished degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering (soil mechanics, foundations), Offshore Engineering or comparable.

We are looking for a candidate who is at best when working on technical challenges that require a sound engineering judgement balanced with a commercial mindset.

You have a strong opinion, based on facts and expertise, which you can communicate effectively and defend in a respectful and convincing manner.

Experience with driveability software (GRL WEAP, Allwave-PDP or comparable) or willing to learn. Proficiency in technical reporting.

Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Matlab or Python for handling large datasets is a pre.
Our offer:

Salary range: EUR 3,100 to 4,600 gross, for full-time work, depending on experience and seniority.

Monthly salary depending on level and expertise. (CAO Metalektro)

8% holiday allowance, paid annually.
