Nowra, New South Wales – The construction of the new Nowra Bridge, a key infrastructure project crossing the Shoalhaven River, is set to enhance traffic flow in the region. To meet the technical and environmental challenges of this four-lane bridge, IQIP has supplied Austral Construction with both the S-120 and S-280 Hydrohammer® for efficient pile driving and foundation work.
Given the project’s location in a residential and environmentally sensitive area, controlling noise pollution is a priority. To address this, IQIP has also provided its cutting-edge Noise Reduction System (NRS), which is being used in tandem with the Hydrohammer® to significantly reduce noise emissions during pile driving. The NRS is proven to reduce noise levels by up to 14 dB(A), a substantial decrease that helps ensure minimal disruption to the surrounding community and environment.
The S-120 and S-280 Hydrohammer® are both versatile and high-performance solutions for this demanding project. Capable of driving piles efficiently into the challenging riverbed, these hammers offer precise control and reliability, contributing to the stability of the bridge’s foundation.
IQIP’s Noise Reduction System (NRS) is a key feature of the project’s environmentally responsible approach. Designed to work with both free-hanging and leader-guided pile driving, the NRS offers flexible operation while effectively minimizing noise. The system’s robust design includes multiple noise-damping technologies, such as a patented air-cushioning mechanism and a noise-absorbing outer shell, which significantly reduce the sound produced during impact. This makes the NRS ideal for use in urban or noise-sensitive areas, where noise pollution is a critical concern.
IQIP’s commitment to both performance and sustainability is evident in the combination of the powerful Hydrohammer® technology and the advanced Noise Reduction System. These innovations showcase IQIP’s dedication to supporting large-scale infrastructure projects like the Nowra Bridge with cutting-edge solutions that balance construction efficiency with environmental stewardship.
