Onshore Wind

The placement of the 12 turbines on the beach in front of sand dunes made the design and construction of the wind farm difficult. The solution was to use a proven offshore method, but one which has never been attempted on nearshore locations - a monopile foundation.

This week, our S-1400 Hydrohammer has installed the first foundation for the Maasvlakte 2 Wind Farm. This project is very special because this method of foundation installation has previously only been used at sea.

Ballast Nedam and IQIP have reached an agreement on the delivery of an S-1400 Hydrohammer for the installation of 12 monopiles for the wind farm of Maasvlakte 2, the Netherlands.
